Giving Tuesday 2023 - Childhood Literacy

1 in 4 children in the United States grow up without learning how to read and only 13% of students in District 187 are proficient in reading. Together we can help fill the resource and opportunity gaps that North Chicago students face when working to improve their literacy skills. This year, the first $5,000 raised will be matched by an anonymous family foundation!

$50 provides three hardback books for a student’s home library

$100 provides 15 paperback books for a student’s home library

$250 provides one book for each student in a class

$1,000 provides one book for every Kindergarten – 3rd grade student in the After School Enrichment Program at Evelyn Alexander School
